Week of May 31 through June 6, 2020

#1 ◱ Don dug out a utility pole stabilizer. And then cut it off with an angle grinder.

#2 ◱ Lois braves a trip to the dentist.

#13 ◱ Lois bought two shopping carts of flowers, 1/2 cart of vegetables, and 2 ten pounds bags of fertilizer. She is hoping to have a pretty yard this year. Almost all the flowers are perennials so she is hoping they spread and come back year after year.

#24 ◱ Chiffon is still in her box with the two Copper Maran chicks, but when we gave the two chicks to Black West, Chiffon heard it chirping and thought she had lost a chick. So she started calling it. Somewhere in the night we lost a chick. Neither mother had it in the morning.

#25 ◱ Black West with her remaining chick. They were weird though. The chick would peck Black's eyeball, and Black would peck the chick. What kind of endearment was that. Meanwhile Black wasn't scrounging for food.

#26 ◱ Lois cutting new shape for the nesting boxes so the hens can get in better.

#27 ◱ One of Black East's golden Sexlink died or got smashed. Black East was a good mama though and still has her second chick.

#28 ◱ Black West's chick I thought was dead and so I picked it up and it started chirping. I took it into the house to hopefully raise it myself, but it died after a couple of hours.

#32 ◱ This sitting duck was so quiet that I wondered if she was alive, but I could see her breathing. I hope she has more success than we had with incubators.
