#1 ◱ Joseph puts a 3.5 ton jack under Goldie. All four tires were mired up to their axels. In this shot, the front tires have been raised enough to put bricks under them.
#4 ◱ You can see the hole in the mire where the back tire was. It is full of water. You can see that the tire treads, which are very deep, are totally filled with mud.
#5 ◱ Goldie is lifted above the mire. But does that mean we can drive her anyplace? Nope. Not yet.
#6 ◱ We did get a 2x8 board under the tire, but when we tried to drive forward, the board just slipped off to the side.
#7 ◱ We got the board back under, but when we let the jack down, the board cracked. Goldie is heavy.
#8 ◱ Joseph decided to fill the holes under the tires with gravel. He got one wheelbarrow full and that wore him out.
#9 ◱ Much time passes. Then, Yay! We got Goldie out and part way up the hill. Now we are unhooking all the ropes and chains.
#10 ◱ The parade home. Don leads the way, driving Goldie. In her bucket we have the chain and rope and shovel. In the background you can see the RV park on the other side of our "river".
#11 ◱ Don leads the parade home. Joseph follows up with the SUV.
#12 ◱ Here is what's left of the spot Goldie sank into the mire. It is still mire.
#15 ◱ Another view of the scuff marks made by the SUV tires trying to pull Goldie out.
#16 ◱ Another view of the scuff marks made by the SUV tires trying to pull Goldie out. The grass will all grow back quickly.
#17 ◱ Cleanup begins. We cobbled together a car-wash station on the gravel near the sheep pasture. You can see Tutu in the left edge of the frame.
#18 ◱ Cleanup continues. You can see the beehive on the left side of the frame, and behind it you can see big piles of gravel (3/4 inch minus) to be deployed.
#19 ◱ Cleanup continues. It is the Goldie Appreciation Bath.
