Lois's new toy: A DeWALT Sawzall. It came in handy for several steps of the window removal and shelf sizing.

We are about to remove a window. We start by removing the inside frame.

Next we remove the paneling stuff they used to make the hole the right size.

The sliding piece of glass is out now, and we are working on the fixed half of the window. It does NOT want to come out. It was stapled and screwed from the side we can not reach.

But with a little sawing, we convinced it. Now we have a nice empty hole. Beyond the hole is the wall of the 2013 addition.

We are using an old piece of countertop to make a shelf the right size to fit in front of the window hole.

This is the result. A perfect fit. Someday we will be able to get the kitchen remodeled, but this is very functional in the mean time. It is so easy to get a bowl. :-)
