Jun 20 2014 Flooring
Most people take a vacation for their anniversary or go out to dinner.
Instead we decided to cover two bathroom floors in the new addition.
First we made a paper pattern of the floor. Okay, that was after we cleaned all the sawdust and made two saw horses.
Getting the toilet hole right is a big trick.
Then the edges.
When that is done we made a layer of water barrier paper.
Never realized how handy all my sewing skills would be.
Just love doing those corners.
Have to make sure several times that everything fits.
After the barrier is laid down then we cut out the new under layment out of particle board.
Getting the cuts and holes to line up is tricky, especially when the plywood comes in 4x8 sheets and the bathroom is over 5 feet each direction.
I think we did pretty well.
Yay, look at that.
It's amazing how excited you can be over a bathroom floor.
Now on to the second bathroom, Don's.
Making circles in the paper barrier.
Now the circle in the under layment.
Don cutting out his bathroom's toilet hole.
The sun isn't as bright and we have a lack of electricity in the new addition. We had to take part of the plumbing off the studs to get the under layment into the room.
Now the vapor barrier is going down.
Don is putting the staples in, and next the under layment goes on.
Wow, got that done. Don is out for the count.
Oh, good, he's still alive.
So here's the Lois's Loft bathroom.
Taking the wrap off the long roll of sheet vinyl.
We laid the patterns for the sheet vinyl onto the new sheet vinyl, but we are too tired to do the next step. We will leave it for tomorrow. Happy Anniversary!
